Let us all take a step back and ask ourselves five big questions as a customer of Enterprise Solutions.
- Should I pay for something I don't need?
- Am I forced to move from one version of enterprise solution to another?
- Why should I invest to upgrade?
- Do I always need latest/ state-of-the-art enterprise solution?
- Is it just an overhead to move from one EPR package/version to another?
IT solutions have evolved in last few decades, from custom solutions in 90's to package solutions now. But looking at the numbers IT cost may not have changed significantly in any company, it may have increased bur rarely decreased. Though ROI (Return on investment) may show breakeven after 4-5 Yrs. of investment, but does investment really ends? In today's dynamic market with ever changing business need and IT solutions; can each and every company cope up with new and new Enterprise Solutions? With Enterprise Solution Product companies coming up with new releases and forcing customer to upgrade to latest Versions and re-investing in technology again and again .... Is this a future of IT? Will it remain as never ending expense on your Income Statement where Expenses are significantly increased during the Implementation/upgrade phase of the IT system? Is this the only way out or do we have an alternative.
