ORACLE EPM CLOUD UPDATES- FEBRUARY 2020

ENTERPRISE PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT:

EPM CLOUD COMMON: This segment includes updates concerning common features of the EPM Cloud such as "EPM Automate, Migration, Access Control, Data Integration and Office Smart View"

SMART VIEW FOR OFFICE (MAC AND BROWSER): A revision of Oracle Keenly intellective View for Office (Mac and Browser) is accessible. This latest change incorporates support for the Orchestrating approbations process, the importing metadata, and an incipient form option, Reiterate Member Labels.

INCIPIENT VERSION OF EPM AUTOMATE: Now there's a incipient version of "EPM Automate". Each version includes incipient commands, as well as some changes to existing commands. Furthermore, all command parameters have been rendered case-insensitive from this update.

BATCH PROCESSING ENHANCEMENT IN DATA MANAGEMENT: You can build a batch in Data Management with data load rules from various target applications.

SERVICE INSTANCE NAMES REMOVED FROM ROLE NAMES DISPLAYED IN ACCESS CONTROL: Beginning with this update, the predefined names of roles ("Service Administrator, Power User, User, and Viewer") shown on Access Control screens. Access Control screens earlier displayed the names of predefined roles as groups in-format.

Beginning with this version, only the name of the roll will be shown.

FUSION WEB SERVICES URL ADDRESS CHANGE IN DATA MANAGEMENT: In Data Management, the format of the Fusion Web Services URL has been modified.

INCIPIENT ORACLE HUMAN CAPITAL MANAGEMENT CLOUD EXTRACTS AVAILABLE IN DATA MANAGEMENT: Data Management now includes incipient "Oracle Human Capital Management Cloud extract definitions" and Start Date columns.

UPDATE INBOX FILES WITH DATA MANAGEMENT USING REST APIS AND EPM AUTOMATE: In Data Management, you can now import data files that are available in the EPM Inbox folder rule using Rest API or EPM Automate.

RESET THE SERVICE AND INCLUDE A COMMENT USING REST APIS: Comment can now be included regarding the reset whilst resetting the service with REST APIs; which will help to connect with users.

ACCOUNT RECONCILIATION:

TRANSACTION IMPORT IN TRANSACTION MATCHING SUPPORTS LOCALIZED DATE FORMAT: Transaction Import has a "Date Format field" in Transaction Matching which provides localized date formats.

ENTERPRISE DATA MANAGEMENT

ARGUMENT LABELS FOR EXPRESSION METHODS: The Expression Builder sets out categories for expression methods statements.

COPY EXPRESSION TO CLIPBOARD AS TEXT: "Expressions can be copied as text to the browser clipboard and pasted to another client application, such as an email, instant message, document, or web page"

SIBLINGS ATTRIBUTE AND TRIM METHOD IN EXPRESSIONS: Siblings of a hierarchical node can be available for evaluation of their data in an expression. The attribute Siblings is valid for object Node. For String data types in expressions, the Trim method is available to delete leading or trailing white space from string values.

TRANSFORM NODE NAME DURING NODE TYPE CONVERSION: Using a "property transformation in a node type changer, node names for target viewpoints can be calculated when sharing, mapping or synchronizing nodes across applications"

DERIVED VALUES AND PROPERTY TRANSFORMATIONS FOR BOOLEAN PROPERTIES: Boolean data type properties can be configured using the custom business logic with an expression to extract a value or transform a value for the property. For Boolean properties expressions must return a true or false value.

ENHANCED COMPARISON OF PROPERTIES WITH DISPLAY VALUES: When comparing Boolean data type properties for viewpoint nodes, the relation matches the internal value, rather than the "configured display value (Yes / No, Y / N, T / F)". By comparing String data type properties with a set of approved values, the relation matches the values of both the Code and Show in the list. It avoids inconsistencies when comparing String properties with different code / display values using conversion of node sort.

EXPANDED LIST OF INVALID CHARACTERS FOR PROPERTIES: The String and Memo properties parameter for Invalid Characters offers an expanded list of selectable special characters.

CHANGE PARENT FOR INVALID REQUEST ITEM USING DRAG AND DROP: "You can drag and drop the request item from the Requests pane to a parent node in the viewpoint to change the parent for the item and solve the problem for request items that have a missing or invalid parent"

COPY AND MODEL AFTER NODE IN VIEWPOINT: Nodes can be copied from a viewpoint to create incipient nodes based on the node template that was copied.

IMPROVED FILE NAME HANDLING FOR DIMENSION EXPORTS: When exporting an application aspect to a file, the file name now created by default in the format: Application Name_ Dimension Name_ Date. For instance, Planning_Account_20200101.csv. Where applicable, the default file name may be overridden before exporting the element.

DESCRIPTIVE FLEXFIELD SUPPORT FOR E-BUSINESS SUITE GENERAL LEDGER: In Enterprise Data Management Cloud, global and context sensitive descriptive flexfields for the General Ledger E-Business Suite can be handled for segment values.

SUBSCRIPTION FILTERS BASED ON ACTIONS AND EXPRESSIONS: Subscriptions designed for target perspectives can be filtered in the source perspective with different change behavior or with an expression to test a specific data condition.

UPDATED ACADEMY WITH INCIPIENT VIDEOS: "Enterprise Data Management Cloud" has revamped the Academy page with incipient categories and videos.

MINIMIZE AND RESTORE INSPECTOR WINDOWS: You now have the capacity to reduce a gap for an inspector. This is availes when displaying data displayed behind the inspector.

FINANCIAL CONSOLIDATION AND CLOSE

ENHANCEMENTS TO CONFIGURABLE CALCULATION RULES: If the Ownership Management function is allowed for the application, you can write the Configurable Calculation to a Proportion member FCCS_50_After_Opening Balance Carry Forward Consolidated and FCCS_60_Final Calculations_Consolidated insertion rules.

IN THE CONFIGURABLE CALCULATION YOU WILL WRITE TO THREE ADDITIONAL MEMBERS OF THE MOVEMENT FCCS_30_AFTER OPENING BALANCE CARRY FORWARD_TRANSLATED AND FCCS_40_FINAL_CALCULATIONS_TRANSLATED INSERTION RULES.  The members are:

"FCCS_MVMTS_FX_OPENING

FCCS_MVMTS_FX_MOVEMENT

FCCS_MVMTS_FX_TO_CTA"

PARTNER ELIMINATION SUPPORT IN CONSOLIDATION RULES: Configurable Consolidations now permits you to redirect the data of the source Entity to the entity's sibling.  You can create a rule-set on Partner Elimination IF THE PARTNER ELIMINATION FEATURE HAS BEEN ENABLED FOR THE APPLICATION AND IF ONE OR MORE RULES ARE TO BE WRITTEN TO A PARTNER ELIMINATION ENTRY WITHIN THE RULE SET.

ENHANCED METADATA VALIDATION FOR INTERCOMPANY ELIMINATION MEMBER: The Metadata Validation process now tests and exhibits a warning message if the member of the Intercompany Elimination is excluded from the member of the Total Eliminations, or transferred from the Total Data Source.

PERFORMANCE SUBSTITUTION VARIABLES: Performance enhancement may be enabled by the below substitution variables:

"ENABLESIMPLEAGGREGATION

OPTIMIZEDBREFRESH

OPTIMIZEYTDCALCULATION"

NOTE: The degree of performance enhancement varies widely among distinct applications, as it is driven purely by application design and delivery of data.

NARRATIVE REPORTING

UPDATED NARRATIVE REPORTING EXTENSION FOR SMART VIEW: The enhanced Oracle Smart View Narrative Reporting Extension is now available for Office. In addition to other general enhancements and bug fixes, this update includes a incipient search box in the Variables panel.

ABILITY TO COPY NOTES FROM SOURCE POV TO TARGET POV DIMENSIONS: You can still move notes from one participant into another in Management Reporting.

ANALYTICS ON CONDITIONAL TEXT: In Management Reporting, you are now able to perform further analysis on the grid. Previewing a report in HTML format, where all the conditional text is shown as hyperlinks in the text box. From the text you can dig into a incipient browser tab that contains the associated zoom-enabled map.

ABILITY TO GENERATE TAGS BASED ON A VALUE: You have the option to choose a report level property tag when working in Report Properties; " Suppress Fact Values". For example, entering a value in this option-," ""0" or "blank" directs the system to ignore that value when it generates a fact.

BOOK SUPPORT FOR INTEGRATED BUSINESS PROCESSES: Along with the existing functionality of viewing Reports, Report Snapshots, and Report Packages, you now have the option to also view Books in EPM Connect.

GROUPING CAPABILITY IN MANAGEMENT REPORTING: The grouping capability has been introduced in Management Reporting that enables you to add and remove groups from a GridObject on a range of segments. References to the conditional formatting, formulas, and text function may also be applied to groupings. Financial reports containing formulas for auto-calculation are migrated to Management reports with grouping counterparts.

PERFORMING AUTO TAG FOR SEC JURISDICTION ONLY: Disclosure Management supports auto-tag "Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and Level 4 tags" in a master document. This update helps historical data sent to SEC regulator.

"SEC classifies Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 tags as these Text Block tags:

Level 1 - Text Blocks

Level 2 - Policy Text Blocks

Level 3 - Table Text Blocks"

INCIPIENT NARRATIVE REPORTING SUBSCRIPTIONS TO SUPPORT STANDARD PREDEFINED ROLES: Beginning by this release, the following predefined roles will support incipient subscriptions to the Narrative Reporting.

"Service Administrator, Power User, User, Viewer "

This update allows Oracle to address customer problems related to migrating services to "EPM Standard Cloud Service and EPM Enterprise Cloud Service" environments from current environment.

This change applies only to incipient subscriptions of Narrative Reporting. Current subscriptions will continue to utilize the predefined non-conforming functions.  Oracle aims in future release to change the non-conforming functions in current environments.

PLANNING

FINANCIALS WEEKLY PLANNING SUPPORTS A 53-WEEK CALENDAR IN 12-PERIOD APPLICATIONS: In Financials, in a 12-period application, If you plan at weekly level, the option to support a 53-week calendar can be incrementally facilitated.

PLANNING BY 13 PERIODS IN PLANNING MODULES: If you are a incipient customer, Once you build a Planning Modules form, a incipient option allows you to prepare for 13 times a year (compared to 12 months a year). With 13-period planning each period is exactly four weeks long.

INCIPIENT START DATE FOR WORKFORCE REQUIRES YOU TO RUN A RULE AFTER UPDATE: For all existing Workforce customers, All 12 months and 13-period preparation now yield more precise calculations based on the incipient start date data. Immediately after updating you must implement a one-time rule.

MIGRATE ORACLE HYPERION STRATEGIC FINANCE TO STRATEGIC MODELING: INCIPIENT DOCUMENTATION: Incipient documentation for migrating Strategic Finance Release 11.1.2.4.002 entities and templates to Strategic Modeling is now available in EPM Cloud. It also explains how to complete the migration process using the Smart View Extension for Strategic Modeling or EPM Cloud Screens"

USE REST APIS TO IMPORT AND UPDATE EXCHANGE RATES: You can avail REST APIs to export the prototype for import exchange rates to the Planning repository and change the rates if necessary. You can then import the rates into the application using the settings for import exchange rates listed in a form import exchange rate planning job. You can also override some of the task description parameters when performing the work from a REST API.

EXPORT DATA AND EXPORT METADATA JOBS NOW SUPPORT USER-DEFINED EXPORT FILE NAMES: For every Planning metadata and data export task, you can now define a specific output file name.

EXPORT DATA NOW SUPPORTS DECIMAL SCALE: You could mention THE NUMBER OF DECIMAL POSITIONS (0-16) WHICH WILL BE RETURNED WHEN EXPORTING DATA FROM ESSBASE IN PLANNING EXPORT DATA JOBS.

EXPORT DATA NOW SUPPORTS SUBSTITUTION VARIABLES: The concept of export data for planning now supports variable substitution.

DECIMAL PRECISION WHILE EXPORTING DATA FROM ESSBASE WITH REST APIS: When exporting data from Essbase using REST APIs, you can now set the precision to decimal. For example, if you enter the value for the parameter to 7 the value 72.1478 can be formatted and written as 72.14 in the export data file.

INCLUDE SUBSTITUTION VARIABLES WHEN EXPORTING DATA WITH REST APIS: While exporting data using REST APIs, the substitution variables can now be used. This gives you more flexibility with the results.

ADD AND REMOVE A USER FOR A BATCH OF GROUPS WITH REST APIS: Using an ANSI or UTF-8 encoded CSV file uploaded to the server, you can now use the REST APIs to add and delete users for a batch of groups in Access Control.
